The top and bottom rails are sold separately. They must be
integrated into the affixed Newel Posts. To comply with code the bottom
rail can sit directly on the substrate, or it can be raised 4" with
square support blocks ever 4 feet. This raising of the bottom rail
can allow one to achieve the 42" or 36" code height with smaller
balusters. The rails in this collection have an embedded PVC pipe
for code compliance. Pre-drilling is a factory option as well as
factory painting or metal coating.
